Moving a roofing site off a page builder platform is a migration, not a rebuild from zero

Migrating a roofing website off a slow, plugin-heavy platform means preserving the content and search visibility that already exists while rebuilding the underlying pages as custom code, which is what actually fixes the speed problem.

What it costs

  • Plans$127 a month
  • Build fee$697, after launch
  • Live in7 days
  • Revisions5 a month
  • Domain and hostingIncluded
Recognise any of these

Signs your WordPress install has become a liability

If more than two of these describe your situation, this page is about you.

  • 01You get update notices you ignore because the last one broke the contact form.
  • 02The page builder that the site depends on has changed hands, changed pricing or stopped being updated.
  • 03The site is slow and every fix is another plugin, which makes it slower.
  • 04Nobody currently at your company knows the hosting login.
  • 05You are paying for hosting, a security plugin, a builder licence and a backup service, and you cannot remember signing up for two of them.
Scope, both halves

What is included, and what is deliberately not

The second list matters more than the first. A scope with no exclusions is a scope nobody has thought about.

Included

  • A full URL export from the existing install, including posts, pages and category archives.
  • A permanent redirect for every retained URL, in place before the domain is pointed.
  • Migration of the posts and images worth keeping, with an honest assessment of which are not.
  • A custom-coded rebuild with no plugins, no admin panel and nothing for anyone to update.
  • Managed hosting, SSL and content delivery inside the monthly fee rather than as four renewals.

Not included

  • Ongoing maintenance of the existing WordPress install while you decide. We rebuild rather than adopt.
  • Recreating a custom plugin that does something business-specific. Tell us at onboarding and we will be honest about the fit.
  • Keeping the WordPress admin so someone can still log in. The point of the move is that nobody has to.

If you need one of these, say so on the demo. We would rather point you somewhere else than take the work and disappoint you.

Why a plugin-based platform slows a roofing site down

A typical plugin-heavy site accumulates page builder scripts, form plugins and analytics snippets that each load their own code, and the combined weight is what keeps a page from ever reaching a strong PageSpeed score, no matter how much individual plugins are optimized.

What actually migrates, and how

Your existing content, service descriptions, photos, published articles and location pages, is carried across and rebuilt as custom-coded pages rather than retyped from scratch, with every old URL redirected to its new equivalent so nothing you have already earned in search is lost.

What replaces the plugin stack

The quote form, the CRM connection, the contact form and hosting itself are all rebuilt as part of the managed platform, so there is no plugin left to update, break or get hacked six months after the migration.

Step by step

How the move happens without a gap

  1. Export and list

Everything public on the current site is listed, including old posts nobody remembers publishing. This is the step that protects the rankings.

  2. Decide, page by page

Keep, rewrite or retire. Old posts that earn traffic are migrated; ones that do nothing are retired deliberately with a redirect rather than left to 404.

  3. Rebuild and connect

The new site is built custom coded, forms wired into your CRM and tested with a real submission before anything is switched.

  4. Switch when you are ready

Redirects go live with the site. The old install stays up until you are satisfied, then it can be shut down and the hosting cancelled.

How long it takes

The migration runs inside the normal build window. Larger sites take longer to inventory but do not change the launch commitment.

  • How many URLs existA long-running blog is usually the largest part of the mapping work.
  • How much content is worth migratingGood old articles are worth carrying. Most sites have fewer of them than they think.
  • Whether custom functionality existsA plugin doing something genuinely business-specific needs a conversation before you commit.

None of these change the plan price. They change how much work sits inside it, which is why the fee is a plan rather than an hourly rate. See the plans.

What you get

Which plan carries this

This work is part of every plan. The plans differ elsewhere.

Nothing on this page is an add-on or an upsell. The three plans differ in launch time, article volume and whether the AI Engine and Content Engine are included.

From roofing companies we have built for

  • Conrad Fairchild

Estimator, office block roof maintenance company

The 'did you receive it?' calls about commercial roof assessments were a daily occurrence here. Submitters now see exactly what we will do with their request and when to expect us. A modest change with an outsized effect on our mornings.

    Columbia, South Carolina

Submission acknowledgment and follow-up for commercial roof assessments

  • Faris Hourani

Tendering assistant, commercial guttering and drainage firm

Our old commercial roof assessments routine was a shared inbox and crossed fingers. Every inquiry arrives with an owner, a status, and the context attached. It removed a daily friction we had simply learned to live with.

    Fargo, North Dakota

Inquiry assignment and staff handover for commercial roof assessments

  • Bethany Hastings

Office manager, industrial roof refurbishment firm

The old commercial roof assessments PDF made sense on a printer and nowhere else. Staff now link to the precise section instead of wishing callers luck with a long document. Nothing was taken away from the people who like paper.

    Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Structured reference pages for commercial roof assessments

Questions about WordPress to custom roofing website migration

Do I lose my published blog posts in the migration?

No. Existing articles are carried across during the migration and redirected properly, so their search visibility is preserved rather than restarted from zero.

How long does a migration take compared to a fresh build?

The launch timeline is the same as any new build, since the migration work, content transfer and redirect mapping, happens inside that same window rather than extending it.

Will I lose my blog posts?

No. Posts worth keeping are migrated and their URLs redirected, so saved links and indexed pages still resolve. We will also tell you honestly which old posts are doing nothing for you and are better retired with a deliberate redirect.

What happens to my plugins?

Most of them exist to patch gaps a custom build does not have: caching, security, SEO fields, forms, image optimisation. Anything genuinely business-specific we look at individually and give you an honest answer before you commit.

Can I keep WordPress access just in case?

You can keep the old install running as long as you like, at your own hosting cost, but nothing on the new site depends on it. After a month or two almost nobody wants it.

Is my WordPress content actually mine?

Yes, and it comes with you. What you are leaving behind is the maintenance obligation rather than the content.

What if my site has hundreds of URLs?

Then the mapping takes longer and matters more. Large sites are exactly where a careless migration does the most damage, which is why the inventory is the first step rather than the last.

Who cancels the old hosting?

You do, once the new site is live and you are happy. We will tell you when it is safe, and we would rather you paid for an extra month of the old host than switched anything off early.
